I'm A Genealogist in the Bottle, Baby

My father-in-law has been working on his family tree for a while now (years? months? I'm not sure, but a while anyway) and he told the hubby that there was a new version of the Family Tree Maker program that allows you to search through a lot of data (census surveys, birth/death indexes, etc.) online now. Well, of course, my husband needed to have this new "toy" and promptly purchased one for us...to search MY family.

I joke about being Poli-pino...Polish-Filipino...because it's easy to...I mean, what a combination! Well, the joke may now be on me. In the short time that we've been playing around with this genealogy thing, we've so far found that I may not be as Polish as was once thought! WHAT??!??!
I know. I'm just as stunned.

I had always been told that both my fraternal grandparents were Polish, but now we can't find the evidence to support that entirely. My grandmother's side of the family is DEFINITELY Polish ( I know....WHEW!), but we're still trying to search far enough back on my grandfather's side to find that connection. So far, in essence, I'm only a quarter Polish. Why, that's only enough to make a skewer, not a Pole! (Sorry, I couldn't resist the obvious availability of humor, no matter how bad it may have been.)

So the saga continues...watch this space.

Does this really matter? Who reads this anyway? Seriously. Okay, fine. I'm probably the only Poli-pino you'll ever meet and I: like to cook up a good meal (but if given the choice I'd rather eat out); watch TV and films from here and there; love to laugh and try to do it often; hate to cry but end up doing so...and often; believe we ALL make a difference to SOMEONE at SOME POINT; love long walks on the beach, it's cheesy, I know, but I do love them especially with my family; wish I was as erudite as Stephen Fry, as cleverly comedic as (too many to name here) and as oblivious as Mr. Bean. Obviously I could go on...that's why I started the blog!
