"Howzit, brah? The surf was epic today, fully macking double overhead corduroy to the horizon. Now it's all buggery. Think I'll jet to the food hut and grab a burrito and some sweet nectar. Latronic, dude."*
Did I lose you? Before you open a new tab/browser/window/whatever to bring up BabelFish, they don't translate surfspeak and, luckily, I didn't mean that kind of surfing. Although I wish I knew how to hang ten, I think I need to become a better swimmer first...and move somewhere nearer the sand and surf.
Actually I was just surfing the net, which I tend to do when I'm procrastinating from doing the things I NEED to do. Reader's Digest version: I was watching a movie trailer and ended up finding a website that made the movie geek in me do cartwheels.
The real chain events to this blog post is more:
- see movie title, watched the trailer
- begin to wonder where that expression came from because I can't place it
- realize it's Shakespeare, but still not certain exactly which play
- go to Wikipedia (where have you been?) find the reference to "Shylock" in The Merchant of Venice
- see a link in the "References" section of the entry, not that the movie listed interests me
- find the aforementioned website...SCORE!!
- begin cartwheels
- wonder why I hadn't found site before now because I'm a HUGE fan of a similar site
- realize it's blogworthy
- *find article to quote for beginning of this post, because I always need a segue and remember to give Andrew Shield props for the photo that I found online.
Tell me you DIDN'T click on at least one of the eight links above.
Ha! You're procrastinating, too!
Hang ten!
